Maria is passionate about nature. In her school days, she participated in several volunteering programmes, then was when she had the chance of observing an avocet in hand for the first time. That beauty rose her interest in birds and made her hook on birdwatching definitely. Maria studied Environmental Science at the university and then completed a two-year course in forest and environmental management. After her degree, she started to travel abroad to wonderful places, living in Finland, London and Pennsylvania (US) where she participated in an internship programme in Hawk Mountain Sanctuary, an international centre for raptor conservation, research and education. Maria arrived to Huelva in 2016 to work as a guide. She is enthusiastic about sharing with visitors everything she learnt during the past 10 years. Nature is even more fascinating through Maria’s eyes indeed.
